2. Profile Information
When you create an account, we collect your name and profile picture, which you provide voluntarily. Your display name may be visible within the App to personalize your experience. You can update your profile information at any time through the My Profile settings.
3. Email Address
Your email address is used for account authentication, account recovery, and important service communications such as subscription confirmations and security notices. We do not use your email address for marketing purposes without your explicit consent.
4. Reading Progress
We store your reading progress, including the current book, chapter, and position, to provide a seamless reading experience across sessions. This information is linked to your account and, with cloud synchronization, allows you to continue reading where you left off across devices.
5. Notes
Notes you create on specific verses are stored securely and linked to your account. These notes are private to you and are not shared with other users or third parties. You can create, edit, and delete notes at any time.
6. Highlights
Verse highlights you create are stored to personalize your reading experience. Highlight colors and associated verse references are linked to your account and can be managed through the Library or while reading.
7. Saved Verses
Verses you save or bookmark are stored to provide quick access to your favorite passages. This information is linked to your account and can be managed through the Library or Favorites section.
8. Preferences
We store your app preferences, including selected language, Bible translation, font size, dark mode setting, and notification preferences. These preferences are stored locally on your device and, where applicable, linked to your account for cloud synchronization.
9. Analytics (Future)
In future updates, VerseToVerse may collect anonymized usage analytics to understand how features are used and to improve the App. This data will be aggregated and will not identify individual users. You will have the option to opt out of analytics collection through the App's settings.
10. Crash Reports (Future)
In future updates, VerseToVerse may collect crash reports and technical diagnostic data to identify and fix bugs and improve app stability. This data will be used solely for the purpose of improving the App and will not include personal content such as your notes or reading history.
11. Subscription Information
We store information about your subscription status and plan type to provide Premium features. Payment information is processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and is not stored on our servers. We only receive confirmation of your subscription status from the applicable app store.
12. How Information Is Stored
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard practices. Account data, including notes, highlights, saved verses, bookmarks, and reading progress, is stored on our servers and linked to your account. App preferences are stored locally on your device. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections using TLS/SSL technology.

All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocols. Sensitive information is encrypted at rest using industry-standard encryption algorithms. We regularly review and update our security practices to protect your data.

You can delete specific notes, highlights, and saved verses at any time. You can request complete deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting support through the App.
16. Data Deletion
When you delete your account, your personal data, including profile information, notes, highlights, saved verses, bookmarks, reading progress, and preferences, will be permanently deleted from our servers within a reasonable timeframe. Some data may be retained for legal or accounting purposes where required by applicable law.
17. GDPR Considerations
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have certain rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, data portability, and object to processing of your personal data. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can promptly delete such information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, applicable laws, or the features of the App, including future features such as AI capabilities, community features, or additional content. We will notify you of significant changes through the App. Your continued use of the App after changes are made constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
